Caring for Kids
The Kyes Family Legacy
Caring for Kids who are financially, emotionally or physically challenged was the mission of the Lafayette and Myra Rogers Kyes family in E. Palestine, Ohio in the 1950’s. Through their generous donations, Columbiana County has been able to keep their spirit and mission alive.
The Caring for Kids project is an ongoing undertaking that strives to educate the community about the needs and desires of the children who are involved in the protective and foster care services in Columbiana County. Numerous fundraisers are held throughout the year to raise money to assist in the special needs and desires of these children. Monetary donations from community partners, churches, businesses and individuals are always accepted and received throughout the year.
All proceeds from fundraisers and donations go to the direct needs of our Columbiana County Children who are involved in our protective and foster care systems.
The Caring for Kids committee is comprised of concerned citizens, representing child serving agencies and the general public. This committee is an advisory group which assists with the fundraising and provides guidance into the spending of our local money. This group provides the CCDJFS with input from our community. Anyone wishing to participate in a fundraiser or become a member of the Caring for Kids Committee is welcome.
