Foster Care Christmas Project
The CCDJFS holds an annual Christmas drive each year for the purpose of obtaining monetary donations for children whom the agency serves. These children may be in foster care or receiving protective services.
Annual donation request letters are sent to various businesses, individuals and organizations which have given in the past or with whom we have done business throughout the year.
Donations for this project are also generated through a payroll deduction that county employees may choose to participate in through the County Auditor’s office.
All donations received are used to purchase gifts for our children at Christmas or may be used throughout the year to purchase a special item for which we cannot use public funds.
Anyone who wishes to purchase actual gifts for a child, children or a family may do so. Information, regarding the wishes or needs of a child may be obtained by contacting the Children Services Administrative Assistant, Nancy Geho, at 330-420-6623.
In 2012, this project was able to provide Christmas gifts to approximately 121 children. Numerous gifts, gift baskets and donations of $4,033.00 helped make this possible.
If you are interested in donating or being a part of our Christmas Annual Project, please call Nancy Geho at 330-420-6623 or Terry MacAleese at 330-420-6691. We appreciate all community support for our children and families!
